Nope, and I dont really understand how people do after being veggie for a certain amount of time, I have nothing against people who go back to eating meat but being veggie has really made me think about what it is that I am eating and I could not physically have meat in my mouth anymore

I've never had the classic 'bacon sandwich after a night out' slip or anything like that. The only times I've fallen off the wagon have been accidental, with the exception of cheeses (see my other posts!) There was once a tin of vegetable soup that, on eating, turned out to have chunks of ham in it, and I've occasionally eaten (non-jelly) sweets but then checked the label. I think the longer you're vegetarian the more it becomes second nature to check (and you have a better gist of what is likely to contain dodgy ingredients). I pretty much check everything these days...

I only just discovered that fruit gums contain gelatine after years of eating them. Waaaaaaah!

I've only been veggie for about 2 and half years, but only realised 2 months ago that Thai green curry paste has fish in it! I'm getting better at checking too.

Another tricky one has to be beer/wine. I really really wish beer companies would make it clear on the label which is veggie and which is not! Then I can continue to expand my beer horizons.

I'm pretty good at the veggie wagon, but I fall off the vegan wagon all the time! But I always think, i'm trying my best and I'm making a huge difference everyday, so I can forgive myself the minutest bit of egg or milk. Insect stuff is the worst though, isn't it? I've had lots of things with honey or shellac without realising...

Depends on your reason for being vegan givepeasachance, as long as you are comfortable with what you have eaten then that is what matters.

It is very difficult being vegan, especially when you are out of the home

Definitely! Your right. I haven't been vegan very long, and from the way it's been going so far, I think I might end up 99% vegan, with occasional veggie days when I can't cater for myself.

A few years ago my partner got me to eat fish and white meat for a couple of months as I was really tired all the time - turned out I had an under active thyroid so got back to being veggie straight away!
